WHITMAN, Mass. — A 10-year-old child became stuck in a chimney Wednesday afternoon in Whitman after climbing onto the roof of his home, officials said.
Whitman firefighters were sent to a home at 143 Harvard St. in Whitman at 4:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10 after receiving a 911 call reporting the child had become stuck in the chimney, the fire department said in a statement.
Firefighters used a ladder to rescue the child from the chimney, where he was stuck from the waist down, the department said. The child was unharmed.
Whitman is a town in Plymouth County next to Brockton.
