PITTSBURGH — Gisele Fetterman, Pennsylvania’s Second Lady, is training to become a volunteer firefighter in Braddock, Pennsylvania, CBS Pittsburgh reported.
Fetterman posted photos on social media of her gear at Rivers Edge 113 Volunteer Fire Department.
According to its Facebook page, the Braddock VFD has about 25 members and operates 2 engines, an aerial, a rescue apparatus, and a river rescue boat. The department responds to about 350 calls per year.
Fetterman says she still has lots of work ahead but is excited and ready to learn.
Her husband, Senator-Elect John Fetterman, posted he is proud of Gisele, adding, “Volunteer fire departments are so important to communities across Pennsylvania.”
