The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) is seeking input from local fire departments, state associations, and other stakeholders on a recently proposed rule from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Your perspective is important as we assess the potential impact of these proposed changes.

The proposed rule, “Medicaid Program; Medicaid Managed Care State Directed Payments and Medicaid Fee-for-Service Targeted Medicaid Practitioner Payments,” includes changes that could affect supplemental payments for ground emergency medical transportation (GEMT) providers and others.

DATES: We encourage stakeholders to submit comments to CFSI by June 26, 2026, to help inform our analysis. Feedback received after that date is also welcome and will continue to support our understanding of this issue. Responses submitted through the feedback form will also help us identify those who would like to stay informed and remain engaged with CFSI’s ongoing work related to GEMT reimbursements.

We encourage you to share your insights and ensure your voice is part of the conversation.
