Unclear if federal emergency would be declared

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — A state official expressed frustration with the lack of response from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide aid for statewide wildfires that have scorched more than 363,000 acres.
Albert Ashwood, director of the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, said Saturday he had no update on whether a federal emergency would be declared.
State officials declared a state of emergency for all 77 Oklahoma counties on Dec. 30 and asked for federal assistance.
