ATLANTA — A charity organization held an event Saturday to honor first responders and raise money.
Fox5 Atlanta reported that the Tunnel to Towers Foundation put on the event and challenged people to climb the 65-floor Westin Peachtree. This was one of six climbs and 40 5K runs around the U.S. meant to honor fire service members.
Ten participants competed for a GMC truck by trying to raise the most funds.
The first heat was completed by firefighters and military members. The money raised will go to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation’s Building for America’s Bravest program, which builds custom smart homes for injured service members.
