Duty Death: Manuel Galindo, Jr. - [Fort Hancock]

HUDSPETH COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Highway Patrol reported that a Fort Hancock fire truck was involved in a rollover crash, killing the fire chief who was driving.
Manuel Galindo Jr., 71, was driving east on State Highway 20, when the fire truck began veering off the road, according to FirefighterCloseCalls.com. When Galindo tried to course-correct, the apparatus flipped, ejecting him from his seat, CBS 4 reported. He was declared dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
