BECKER, Miss. — An 18-year-old Mississippi volunteer firefighter died Sunday.
Becker-Athens Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter Jacob Anthony Carter was responding to a mutual aid fire call in his personal 2002 Ford Explorer when the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree, fatally injuring him.
Firefighter Carter had spent less than one year in the fire service.
