WILLITS, Calif.- Nearly 500 firefighters are battling a wildfire that has burned about 2,400 acres in a remote area of Mendocino National Forest.
The blaze was ignited by a vehicle fire about 2 p.m. yesterday. A spokeswoman for the Mendocino National Forest said the fire is about 10 percent contained this morning.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened by the wildfire near the Snow Mountain Wilderness.
Hikers and campers were contacted and advised to leave the area.
