CINCINNATI — Authorities in Cincinnati say three children have died in a house fire.
Fire Capt. Mike Washington says firefighters arrived after 2:30 a.m. Monday and found heavy flames throughout both floors of the single-family home.
The bodies of the children were found inside after firefighters extinguished the fire. All were under the age of 10.
District Fire Chief John Zompero says a man escaped the fire by jumping from a roof. Authorities said he was seriously injured and was taken to University Hospital.
Fire officials say a woman who was in the house got out safely.
Washington said the severity of the damage will make it harder for investigators to determine the cause.
