An Alameda County firefighter suffered minor injuries Monday night when he partially fell through a roof during a Castro Valley home fire, officials said.
The fire department responded to a one-alarm fire in the attic of a Brent Court home about 8:30 p.m. The firefighter was inspecting the roof when he fell, landing on one of the ceiling joists, said Battalion Chief Jody Naas.
Fire officials still were trying to determine how the accident happened.
The firefighter, whose name was not being released, was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley for treatment of bruised or broken ribs, Naas said.
