NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The 170 Freeway was temporarily closed when up to seven people were injured after their car slammed into a California Highway Patrol vehicle, authorities said.
The southbound freeway was closed at 3:06 p.m. when a car containing two elderly men rear-ended a CHP unit at Burbank Boulevard, Officer Jose Nuñez said. Los Angeles fire spokesman Cecil Manresa said the car contained seven persons, one who was critically injured and had to be extricated from the car.
