MARGUERITE, Pa. — A firefighter sustained a minor injury while battling a late-night fire Wednesday in Unity.

Marguerite Volunteer Fire Department Chief Scot Graham on Thursday said the firefighter fell at the scene of an abandoned garage fire on Marguerite Lake Road. He was treated at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital for an arm injury and released, Graham said. He declined to release the firefighter’s name yesterday.

The detached garage was engulfed upon firefighters’ arrival at 11:45 p.m., Graham said, and the roof had collapsed.

He said the garage had been used for storage and a workshop, and was in the process of being cleaned out by its owner.

Graham said a state police fire marshal is investigating.
