NEW YORK — Firefighter Matt Long limped up First Ave. into Spanish Harlem Sunday, determined to finish the grueling New York City Marathon — his first race since he was nearly killed in a 2005 bike crash.
Then he spotted his FDNY buddies at 99th St., blasting the siren from Ladder 43 engine and shouting his name.
He grinned through the pain.
