COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Lightning didn’t strike twice Tuesday in a northern Colorado Springs neighborhood — it struck three times, the Fire Department reported.

In late morning, firefighters got back-to-back-to-back calls of lightning strikes in the same area.

The first lightning strike was reported about 11 a.m. in the 7000 block of Whitebark Lane, near East Woodmen and North Marksheffel roads. The strike reportedly peeled shingles from the roof, Colorado Springs police Lt. Brian Ritz said.

Crews also responded to lightning strikes at 8087 Briarthorn Lane and another at 7423 Manistique Drive.

Power was temporarily knocked out at some of the homes, but no injuries or fires were reported.
