Funeral services are being held today for firefighter Captain Marcel Marleau. He died last weekend while battling a fire in Montreal North. It’s a civic funeral and will be held at Notre Dame Basilica at 11 this morning.
Chief of operations for the Montreal Fire Department, Janmes Ross, tells the New 940 Montreal that firefighters from across North America are expected to attend.
“We expect at least three- to four-thousand. It’s very hard to estimate the exact number, but we’ve had calls come in from Vancouver, from Calgary, from Edmonton, from Eastern Canada, from the United States.”
