SAN DIEGO, Calif. — A tanker truck trailer loaded with about 4,000 gallons of gasoline overturned and caught fire just outside Qualcomm Stadium Wednesday morning, sending a huge plume of black smoke over Mission Valley and closing nearby roads.
No injuries were reported, but fire crews are working to keep the fuel and the flames contained.
The fire is not spreading to the nearby fuel depot but has charred the stadium’s sign and some nearby trees. Burning fuel is flowing into the Qualcomm parking lot.
