Ill. deputy fire chief dies during training

After responding to an emergency medical call, he collapsed during physical training

HINSDALE, Ill. — An Illinois firefighter died Monday after responding to an emergency medical call.

After returning to the fire station, Hinsdale, Ill., Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief Mark Johnson, 55, collapsed during department mandated physical training.

Fire department paramedics and other medical personnel treated Chief Johnson, but he died from a cause that has not yet been reported.
