Five-year firefighter’s death is under investigation

NASHVILLE, Ind. — A volunteer firefighter was killed Friday while on duty.

The death of Capt. Leonard Arthur Murray, 53, is still under investigation after he was killed at the Jackson Township Fire Department station in Nashville, Ind. on Friday afternoon.

Murray suffered a head injury while doing maintenance to a department vehicle. The vehicle rolled forward and pinned him against a wall, according to WHAS11.

Murray had served the department for five years.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at the Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle in Martinsville.
