The City of Gatineau and its fire department are being sued by an insurance company over claims of shoddy fire fighting when a fire destroyed most of the Glenwood Plaza in the Aylmer section of the city last July.
The insurance company, as yet unidentified, claims in the million-dollar suit that firefighters demonstrated incompetence, and lacked training to properly extinguish the blaze.
The suit also alleges the firefighters were poorly equipped.
