MILLERTON – A 40-year member of the Millerton Fire Department collapsed and died Sunday while in the line of duty. Hector “Sandy” McClune was 76 years old.
The life member and firefighter responded to a grass fire in the Village of Millerton at the Millerton Elementary School. While he assisted in extinguishing the fire, he collapsed at the scene. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead on arrival at Sharon, CT Hospital.
