N.Y. firefighters honored for donating bone marrow

NEW YORK — Two leukemia survivors met face-to-face for the first time today with the men who helped save their lives.

New York City firefighter John Jensen and former firefighter Joe Kazlauskas were honored for providing successful bone-marrow transplants to an Arizona retiree and an upstate New York woman.

Glenn Hale of Payson and Brooke Williams of Gouverneur, New York, are still recovering from their disease, but they say their prospects are good.
