Ohio firefighter loses control of vehicle on wet pavement, slams into pole and dies

Additional Info: Rose Woodbridge was a volunteer firefighter and an EMT with the Hanover Township Fire Department. She worked there with her husband Ray, also a volunteer firefighter/medic with the HTFD. The couple also served Reily Township’s Fire Department.

A Hanover Township Firefighter and Life Squad member is dead after getting into a car accident while responding to a separate crash Friday morning.

57-year-old Rose Woodbridge of Oxford was driving her personal car to an emergency accident at SR 130 at Boyle Road about five miles over the speed limit just before 9 a.m. when her car slipped on the wet roadway and struck a utility pole.

Her friends and colleagues at the Hanover Township Fire Department were able to extricate her from the car, but due to the severity of her injuries, she was pronounced dead at the scene by University Air Care medical staff. ...
