Cause of Death: Hays responded to the first of many calls on the night of December 7. When he failed to respond to the other calls fielded by his department fellow firefighters became worried and went to check on him. They found him at home in bed. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death which was unkown when Hays was found. Hays was a member of the Lower Merion Fire Department and the Narberth Fire Company.
