DOWNS, Kansas — A Kansas firefighter died Thursday after responding to a garage fire.
Downs Fire Department Captain Jim Duane Niles, 59, became ill while working at the scene of the fire and was transported to a local hospital where he passed away from a cardiac-related injury.
