SAN DIEGO — Sheriff’s detectives and San Diego County Crime Stoppers are asking the public’s help to find five men responsible for an assault last February in Imperial Beach that left an off-duty firefighter blind in one eye.
About 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 24, three friends were walking past a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant on Palm Avenue near Eighth Street when they noticed several people throwing trash out of a parked white Honda Civic.
When one of the three said, “What’s that all about?,” the occupants of the Civic immediately got out and attacked the three with baseball bats and beer bottles.
