LEBANON, Tenn. — Lebanon Public Safety Commissioner and acting Police Chief Billy Weeks is taking “early retirement,” according to Lebanon Mayor Philip Craighead. Weeks, according to Craighead, was involved in an incident last weekend with Lebanon Fire Chief Chris Dowell in which Weeks drew his revolver and pointed it toward Dowell.
Craighead said Thursday that “it was something that should not have happened,” referring to the incident between Weeks and Dowell, and said he is waiting on reports from those involved before making any final determination on what course of action should be taken.
According to Craighead, “what happened” was not something in which there was “ill will” he said between Weeks and Dowell.
