Volunteer Md. firefighter dismissed for workplace violence

A decorated volunteer firefighter in Prince George’s County has been dismissed. The termination comes just one week after county officials promised swift and decisive disciplinary action.

Investigators are looking into exactly what happened when a fight broke out among firefighters during a house fire in Landover Hills. The volunteer firefighter with the profane mouth, who can be seen on a home video pushing a fellow firefighter into his ladder truck, is history in Prince George’s.

County Fire officials have not released his identity. But based on information from several sources, 9 News has learned that volunteer sergeant at the Kentland Volunteer Fire Company is Nick Martin, who also happens to be a career firefighter in the DC Fire Department.
