Firefighter hopeful consoles resident after arson blaze

RACINE, Wis. — Abimael Morales faced a fire Friday night, when he was one of the first to stop to help as a house in the 900 block of South Memorial Drive burned.

Morales, 20, wants to be a firefighter, and he said it was only natural for him to stop to help when he saw the burning building.

“I was almost in front of the house and I saw fire coming out of the window,” he said. “I passed it, then I put my car in reverse, parked my car, and I ran to the site.”
