HAMILTON, Ohio — Two men were sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of arson and murder in a firefighter’s death.
WCPO reported that Lester Parker and his nephew Billy Tucker were found guilty after prosecutors claimed they set Parker’s house on fire so he could collect insurance money, resulting in the death of firefighter Patrick Wolterman.
The jury deliberated on the case after seven days of proceedings, including testimony from Lester’s daughter, who said Lester began moving items out of his house before the fire.
Both Parker and Tucker said they were innocent, and Parker said he had moved items from his home before the fire in order to make room for a gathering.
Parker and Tucker were sentenced to life in prison with possibility of parole in 15 years.
