NEW YORK — Members of the FDNY were honored today for their strong commitment to donating bone marrow and saving lives.
Nine names were added to the fire department’s “Honor Roll of Life,” which consists of bone marrow donors. In total, 149 names are on the list.
Among those recognized were firefighters from Engine 280 in Prospect Park. The engine received the Commissioner’s Cup for the most donations during a blood drive in the New York area in 2012.
