CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Cambridge firefighter has won the $1 million grand prize on this season’s “Survivor,” thrilling colleagues who praised his performance both on the show and on the job.
Jeremy Collins, 37, of Foxborough was revealed as the winner on the season finale of the television series, which aired Wednesday night on CBS.
“Jeremy is an extremely likable guy,” said Assistant Chief Gerard E. Mahoney in an e-mail. “As many in America witnessed, he carries himself with grace and dignity. He is focused on the task at hand and that’s what we are used to seeing in the fire department.”
