UTAH COUNTY, Utah —A group of students wrote “thank you” notes to firefighters who are working to battle wildfires.
Good4Utah reported that students at Spanish Oaks Elementary School thanked firefighters battling the Pole Creek and Bald Mountain Fires with heartfelt, handwritten notes, which Utah County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Spencer Cannon shared in a tweet.
“These firefighters deserve every thanks they get!” Cannon wrote.
The Pole Creek and Bald Mountain fires were caused by lightning and spread quickly, burning more than 100,000 acres and forcing thousands to evacuate. Nearly 2,000 firefighters have been battling the blazes over the last week.
