PLANT CITY, Fla. — A touching moment was captured on video when a group of homeschooled students visited Plant City Fire Rescue for a tour this week, FOX 26 reported.

During the event, one of the department’s firefighters was filmed letting a visually impaired student, Junie, touch his gear, uniform, the apparatus and other parts of the station as a way of “seeing” them.

“Knowing what firefighter uniforms and gear feels like and the purpose it serves can help visually impaired children be prepared for any possible emergency,” a social media post from the department read.

A social post by Junie’s mother, Destiny, illustrated how much he was impacted by the interaction.

“His favorite part was spending time with this patient firefighter who allowed Junie to feel all over his uniform and gear, touch whatever he wanted, hear the sounds his equipment made, and answered all of his questions!” she wrote.
