NEW YORK — An NBA team debuted new uniforms that pay tribute to firefighters and their families.

NBA.com reported that the New York Knicks’ City Edition jerseys, created in collaboration with Nike and the Uniformed Firefighters Association, feature a firefighter-themed logo, and they will debut at the Jan. 30 game against the Brooklyn Nets and worn for the six remaining weekend home games afterward.

For each game in which the jerseys are worn, the Knicks will donate tickets to firefighters and give them a special experience.

On March 31, the team will also hold the first-ever New York Knicks 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, which will be open to 343 participants who would like to climb or walk the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs.

The Knicks will donate proceeds from the City Edition merchandise and the stair climb event to the Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows and Children’s Fund, the NFFF and other firefighter charities.
