WAMEGO, Kan. — A firefighter died Tuesday after suffering serious injuries from a fall.
KSNT.com reported that firefighter John Randle, with the Wamego Fire Department, responded to a structure fire at 4:40 a.m. on Monday. After the fire was extinguished, he was seriously hurt from a fall while returning an apparatus to service.
He was airlifted to a hospital, where he died Tuesday.
“We are absolutely heartbroken by this news of a line of duty death following a fire that we had worked alongside Wamego FD,” Blue Township Fire tweeted.
