Philly landmarks turned red in honor of fallen firefighter

PHILADELPHIA — A community is honoring a fallen firefighter by lighting as many landmarks and homes as possible in red.

ABC6 reported that the social media campaign #RedLightsForMatt was used to get the people of Philadelphia, including landmark and skyscraper owners, to illuminate their buildings in red light in honor of Lt. Matt LeTourneau, who died Saturday while battling a row home fire.

The plan is to have the lights up until Friday, the same day a funeral will be held for Lt. LeTourneau.
