ASHEBORO, N.C. — A North Carolina firefighter proposed to his paramedic girlfriend with a message hidden inside an overturned car.
The proposal was captured on video as Asheboro firefighters pulled the roof off the vehicle, turning it to face Randolph County Paramedic Makayla Swaim as Firefighter Matthew Bym stepped forward and got down on one knee.
“Will you marry me?” was painted on the underside of the roof and soon repeated by Bym. The first responders are now happily engaged after meeting at work in 2017, according to FOX8.
