PLYMOUTH, N.Y. — A fire chief died Monday after a fire broke out at his home.
Press Connects reported that Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department Chief Frank Fowlston died of smoke inhalation and was found in his residence when first responders arrived.
Officials said the fire likely started in the living room, but the cause is still under investigation.
“He was funny, always liked to smile, joke around,” Chief Fowlston’s son, Frank Fowlston Jr., said. “He loved everything about the fire department and the service.”
Chief Fowlston was a member of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department for 12 years.
