Thousands gathered in Indianapolis for training, met friends old and new, checked out gear and vehicles, supported Ukrainian firefighters and more

INDIANAPOLIS — FDIC is big. Even if you were among the thousands in attendance, you could not have seen everything.

To see people and things you missed or look back at what you have enjoyed, here’s a roundup of moments people thought were worth sharing.

THE PIPES

Let’s start with a traditional sound.

Actor/comedian Adam Ferrara made quite an entrance.

The bagpipers sound so good because they’ve been practicing.

UP TO THE CHALLENGE

Did you try it?

Members of Lake Travis (Texas) Fire Rescue cheered for Lt. David Clark.

RUN TO REMEMBER

This is a moving memorial. Kelli Jo Lynch of the German Township Volunteer Fire Department participated in the 5K in honor of a fallen friend.

THE MORE YOU KNOW

FDIC included many opportunities to learn. There’s a variety of educational topics on tap.

EMS1 Editorial Director Greg Freise, MS, NRP, shared this nugget of knowledge.

POSES WITH PATCH

Indianapolis Firefighter Derek Huff brought his dog, Patch, to FDIC. At 11 months old, the Dalmatian fits right in!

SUPPORT FOR UKRAINIAN FIREFIGHTERS

FDIC attendees met Ukrainian firefighters and offered their support.

Some showed their support on flags.

Ukrainian firefighters had an unforgettable experience.

NOT JUST FRIENDS – FAMILY

Many attendees reunited with buddies and made new friends.

You might recognize some familiar faces including social media star Jason Patton.

There’s no one quite like your dad – and other people know it, too.
