ROCHESTER, Mass. — The Rochester Fire Department is donating a 3,000-gallon tanker and pumper to the fire department in Cayce, Ky., to replace the tanker the department lost in a Dec. 10 tornado, WCVB reported last week.

The Cayce department lost everything in the storm.

The Rochester department had the extra truck that was sidelined two years ago because it got a new one, and the town Select Board chose to donate it as soon as possible.

“We’re just so proud as a department to be able to help out,” said Lt. Kevin Richard of the Rochester Fire Department.

“This truck is actually a pumper and a tanker. So they’re getting a 2-for-1,” he said.

The Rochester department is also donating 600 feet of hose.

Chief Mike Winn of the Centerville, Osterville and Marston Mills Fire Department said that the RYCO Excavating company will transport the tanker.
