Four firefighters were inside the fire station when the tornado hit; no one was injured

KIMBERLY, Ala. — A tornado in Alabama damaged a fire department, a church and a middle school Monday night.

NBC News reported that four firefighters were inside the firehouse when the tornado hit, but none of them were injured.

“The fire station is destroyed,” Chief Ray Horn, whose neighboring department handled calls when the tornado hit just after 10 p.m., said. “The Church of God was destroyed, too.”

On Sunday, a fire station in Quapaw, Okla. was destroyed after it took a direct hit, according to the report.

Firefighters in the area are looking for victims who may be injured or trapped in the debris.
