BOISE, Idaho — A fire chief was listed in serious condition after being involved in a motorcycle crash Saturday.

Officials said Nampa Fire Chief Karl Malott rear-ended another vehicle and was thrown from his bike; he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Malott was airlifted to a hospital, reported KBOI2.

“Fire Chief Karl Malott is in critical condition. He has lots of support, and my prayers are with him for a full recovery,” Nampa Mayor Bob Henry said.
