Fla. chief involved in multi-car wreck en route to fire

The chief escaped with only minor injuries

PENASCOLA, Fla. — A Fla. fire chief was involved in a four-car crash Wednesday afternoon.

Escambia Fire & Rescue Chief Patrick Grace was on his way to a house fire when the incident occurred, according to PNJ.com.

Chief Grace only received minor injuries.

Chief Grace was reportedly driving with his lights and sirens on when a car entered an intersection, hit Chief Grace’s vehicle and caused it to slam into another car.

One person had to be extricated from the wreck. None of the people involved in the incident have been identified, but all six were hospitalized.

Two women inside the fire that Chief Grace was responding to made it out safely, one of them having to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
