EMSGrantsHelp to Present at HPSN Conference in Florida

SAN FRANCISCO, CAEMSGrantsHelp, the leading online grant information and assistance resource for EMS professionals, has announced that two members of its team will be presenting at the upcoming 2012 Human Patient Simulation Network (HPSN) Conference.

The Annual HPSN Conference will be held from Feb 28 – Mar 1, 2012, in Tampa, Florida. Each year hundreds of leaders, educators, innovators and thinkers in healthcare education gather to make meaningful connections for hands-on learning, to share tales of innovation and to preview the latest in simulation technology.

EMSGrantsHelp will be the only segment presenting on grants and was invited through their partnership with METI (Medical Education Technologies, Inc.), the host of the annual conference. The EMSGrantsHelp team of David Blevins, Grant Writer, and Sarah Wilson, Grants Manager, will be presenting two courses on Grants for EMS Agencies, Grants 101 and the Basics of Grant Writing. The sessions will be held as follows:

Grants for EMS Agencies: Basics of Grant Writing
• Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:30 AM
• Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:15 AM

Grants for EMS Agencies: Grants 101
• Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 10:15 AM
• Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 9:00 AM

The Grants 101 overview course will help novice and experienced EMS grant seekers with the basics of grants, how to prepare your agency for grant applications, and where to go to research grant opportunities from federal, state, corporate and private foundations.

The Basics of Grant Writing session will include a highly educational lecture on the techniques of grant writing, building on the elements of the Grants 101 workshop. Grant seekers will build knowledge in key areas of grant applications such as pre-planning and grant research. Topics covered will include how to develop a problem statement, financial needs and budget development as well as methods of data collection to support your grant request.

“We are honored to have been invited to present at HPSN 2012,” said Sarah Wilson, Grant Manager for EMSGrantsHelp. “Economic conditions have forced EMS agencies to do more with less decreasing their ability to get quality equipment and training. The money is out there; agencies just need to know how to get it.”

HPSN2012 is a free conference and will be held at the downtown Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina in Tampa, Florida February 28 – March 1, 2012. For more information, visit http://www.hpsn.com/event/hpsn-annual-2012/67/.
