Summit Fire Apparatus builds a variety of rescue units to suit your needs. From units on commercial “light-duty” pickup chassis to large units on heavy-duty commercial or custom chassis, we can build to suit the needs of your department and budget. Our units feature aluminum construction throughout for durability, lighter weight and excellent corrosion resistance. Summit offers stainless steel body construction as well.
With 5052H32 .160" thick aluminum construction throughout, durability and strength are assured. From its’ “adjust-a-trak” shelf and component mounting system, component wiring and distribution, “hidden” S.U.B. frame to maximize compartment space, “flat” headers for warning light mounting, box pan or roll-up doors...You get many features until now only available on medium duty or heavy rescue units! These units are available In 10' and 12' body lengths with a full 96" body width. Various options are possible from hydraulic pto generators and rescue systems, to ladder racks, tool boards, reels and storage compartments.
Medium and Heavy Rescue units are available, on a variety of custom or commercial chassis. These rescues feature a combination of heavy duty aluminum extrusion and high strength aluminum sheet construction to give you a durable long lasting unit. Large “flat” headers allow for virtually any lighting system as well as various scene lighting options. Extended “flat” headers enable awning installation without interfering with lighting! Double wall construction with recessed lighting enable accessory mounting virtuallyOptional Toolboards! anywhere! With a variety of options from pto generators, hydraulic systems, ladder compartments, rooftop storage and “command” areas, light towers, reel systems, and drop frame alterations.
Heavy rescue units are available with dropped chassis frames (as seen in the photograph on the left) which maximizes compartment space by providing transverse storage down low and lowers your center of gravity. Drop frame alteration enables large 45" deep tool boards and slide trays to be installed from floor to ceiling.
