MATTESON, Ill. — A firefighter died Friday night while performing CPR on a shopper at Walmart.
WGN TV reported that firefighter Mark Zielinski, 49, with the Matteson (Ill.) Fire Department, responded to the scene where a shopper was down in cardiac arrest requiring CPR. While he was performing CPR, the 13-year veteran died.
He previously worked for the Harvey (Ill.) Fire Department. His cause of death has not yet been determined.
The condition of the person he was performing CPR on is not known at this time.
