CrewBoss™ Introduces Fire Rehab Kits Sized for Every Department

CrewBoss, known for high quality, made in America stationwear and wildland PPE clothing, announces new fire rehab compliance equipment kits that provide turn-key packages for fire departments needing to comply with recent NFPA 1584 and OSHA rehabilitation standards.

Rehab compliance equipment packages are available from CrewBoss dealers to fit every department size and budget. Even the smallest Vehicle Rehab Kit provides a purpose-built tent and the tools that would enable the department to be compliant with the NFPA 1584 process.

The NFPA standard features nine requirements for compliance, including Relief from Climatic Conditions, Rest and Recovery, Cooling or Warming, Rehydration, Calorie and Electrolyte Replacement, Medical Monitoring, Member Accountability, and Release.

Ryan Davidson, CrewBoss National Fire Sales Manager explains, “A curb, a cooler, and a case of bottled water isn’t meeting the NFPA Standard or complying with OSHA requirements. Crew Boss has been saving lives on fires for over 20 years, so when our fire customers asked for a fire rehabilitation equipment package, we took the best of what was already available and created the things that weren’t available. Each of the CrewBoss Rehab Kits provides a combination of equipment that will enable the individual department to comply with the requirements of the Standard.”

Each CrewBoss Fire Rehab Kit is built around and includes a 16-foot diameter CrewBoss Rehab Shelter to provide immediate protection from the weather, create a clean environment, and offers a multitude of service functions such as command and control space. The CrewBoss shelter is manufactured exclusively for CrewBoss by Western Shelter Systems.

The CrewBoss family of rehab kits includes;

• The CrewBoss Rehab Vehicle Kit – all the basic tools necessary to comply with NFPA 1584 requirements and then some. It’s all conveniently stored in just three heavy-duty vinyl bags that can be thrown in the back of a pick-up, on an engine, or in an ambulance.

• The CrewBoss Rehab Kart Kit – organizes a combination of CrewBoss supplied equipment and end user gear on a heavy-duty Kart that can be rolled into an existing end user trailer and/or air truck with a lift gate. It provides a level of rehab equipment beyond the Vehicle Kit, including misters and tarps.

• The CrewBoss Trailer Rehab Kit - provides everything needed to support rehab compliance. It is organized in a purpose-built, quickly deployed trailer that expands to serve fire rehab operations and other all-hazard incidents. The trailer provides privacy when needed, as well as serving as a full-fledged, multi-functional Support Base of Operations for any location and weather conditions.
The Crew Boss-16 shelter (which is included in all three Rehab Kits) not only fulfills the first 1584 requirement (Relief from Climatic Conditions), it can be utilized for a whole range of other purposes on the fire ground or training facility, such as Command Center, Media Control, Privacy Tent, and Temporary Medical Triage to mention a few.

The CrewBoss 16 is not just another “pop-up” soccer tent; this durable and versatile shelter is a brother to the well-known Western Shelter and GateKeeper shelters, utilized by virtually every federal USAR and DMAT team in America. And it can be set-up in less than four minutes by two people.
