The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today the third round of awards for the Fiscal Year 2009 Fire Station Construction Grants (SCG).
The primary goal of the Fire Station Construction Grants (SCG) is to create or save jobs in recession-hit areas and achieve other purposes stated in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and improve firefighter safety and response capabilities throught construction, renovation or modification of fire stations. The SCG program was open to non-federal fire departments and state and local governments that fund or operate fire departments.
