ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester firefighters battled a house fire early this morning on Manitou Street after crews arrived to heavy flames and reports of a possible trapped occupant.

The fire department said firefighters pushed into the home under intense conditions as flames threatened nearby structures. Officials later confirmed everyone had escaped safely.

Crews worked through deteriorating conditions, including a partial roof collapse, before bringing the fire under control.

Two adults were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
