WHY: Every 78 hours a firefighter dies in the line of duty in
America, making firefighting one of the nation’s most
dangerous occupations. The weekend allows surviving families
and friends from across the country to meet one another,
establish emotional connections and celebrate the lives of
their beloved firefighters.
